Nature of request
Damaged petition, firstly regarding a grievance against the mayor and burgesses of Oxford (the details of which are lost), and secondly concerning the university's jurisdiction over excommunicated persons.
Nature of endorsement
As to the first point, it seems to the council that it is already in operation; as to the second, the king should grant it. The petition was taken to the king by the chancellor, and the king granted the matter for six years.
