Note (Additional information about the record)
- Dated on the dorse to c. 1396 on the basis of a reference in the petition to the king's last journey to France; but the hand of the petition seems earlier than this and there is no reason to suppose it has to refer to Richard II. It is therefore dated, impressionistically, to the second or third quarters of the fourteenth century.
