[c. 1376]
Description

Mayor, Burgesses and Commons of Nottingham, and the commons of Nottinghamshire.
Addressees
King and Council.
Nature of request
The people of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire make two separate requests.1) The Mayor and burgesses of Nottingham request that the Mayor be allowed to take any empty burgages in the town into his hands, as a number of burgages are empty and ruinous, and cannot contribute to the fee farm of the town, which is greatly impoverishing the burgesses.2) The Commons of Nottinghamshire and the mayor and commons of Nottingham request the appointment of two wardens to oversee the maintenance of the bridge at Trent Bridge and the causeway between Trent Bridge and Town Bridge.
Nature of endorsement
[None]
Places mentioned
Nottingham, [Nottinghamshire]
Nottinghamshire
Heibethbrigg (Trent Bridge), [Nottingham, Nottinghamshire]

Note
A petition concerning the condition of the bridge at Trent Bridge was presented to the parliament of 1376. This is clearly not that petition, but presumably it was presented to another parliament around this time.
