Note (Additional information about the record)
- Dated on the guard to? c.1313-14, with reference to service against the Scots. This could link it to preparation for the Bannockburn campaign, but equally it could apply to another campaign of this period, or the petitioner may simply have used the offer as a way of gaining his pardon. The handwriting would seem consistent with a date in the early part of the fourteenth century.
