Nature of request
Record of proceedings held at Westminster before Bereford and others in Michaelmas term 1318, concerning a case brought by Musgrave and Heminton against Wade over property in Bletchingdon. They state that they are the heirs to the property, as the heirs of a certain Walter, who held the property during the time of Henry III, and detail the descent. Wade states that Henry III had granted the property to his father, Henry, in serjeanty by the terms of a charter dated 20 October 1260 [recited]. He therefore claims that nothing can be done without the King, and he is given a date in the octave of the Purification next (February 1319).
