Nature of request
The merchants and other poor lieges state that despite the recent truces, Scots and Bretons continue to seize prisoners, ships and merchandise, for which they have been unable to secure restitution. They therefore request that, if any Scot or Breton should seek restitution for goods seized by the King's subjects, they should first be made to answer any liege of the King seeking such restitution for goods and chattels taken by the Scots or Bretons.
