- Robert Maunxsel requests that he be brought to Parliament and receive judgment in his dispute with Philepot. He states that, when Philepot was Mayor of London, he was arrested and sent to prison for 24 days without reason or mainprise, after which he was brought before Philepot and others and summarily judged and sent to prison, where he remains. He claims that he has sued writs to have the record of the process brought before the King's justices, but Philepot and his successor have failed to answer the writs, in contempt of the King's justice.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- Philepot was Mayor of London in 1378-9. Another petition from Maunsell on this matter was presented c.1381 (SC 8/125/6222); presumably this petition dates from around the same time, or possibly slightly earlier, as this petition does not include the reference to the petitioner being in prison for two years included in that document.
