Nature of request
Robert atte Mulle and his wife Alice state that it was found by an oyer et terminer inquest of the late King Richard that they had found treasure under the earth in Guildford, to the value of £600. This was not true, but they had nevertheless paid around 500 marks, for which they are totally ruined. They therefore request that they be pardoned, as previously ordered by Richard II.
