Margery ....

Nature of request
Record of two complaints made by a Margery (surname not given) against Ralph and Robert de Munsclawe. However, too little survives to reconstruct the sense of the cases.
Nature of endorsement
[Fragmentary list of pledges, largely illegible.]
People mentioned
Ralph [de Munsclawe (Munslow)], son of Robert de Munsclawe
Robert de Munsclawe (Munslow)
Margery [...], daughter of the petitioner.
Note
Only the left edge of this document survives, and the sense of the complaint cannot be reconstructed from the remaining text. However, the handwriting, the reference to the king's nineteenth year, and the surviving fragment of the endorsement all suggest that this is a stray plaint from the Staffordshire eyre of 1293. The style is consistent with other such plaints (most of which are now in JUST 1/1553, with further strays elsewhere), and the endorsement is almost certainly part of a list of pledges for the case (c.f. the endorsement to SC 8/127/6338, probably written in the same hand). The eyre took place between 7 and 22 January 1293 in Lichfield, and 27 January and 25 February 1293 in Stafford (D. Crook, Records of the General Eyre, p.176).
