Nature of request
William de Mereu, merchant of Genoa and attorney of Bonaventure and Fornet, requests remedy, stating that when he and his companions arrived at Southampton, they made an agreement with Vaus before they unloaded concerning the amounts of customs they would pay. However, Vaus then repudiated the agreement, seized part of their goods, and demanded greater sums than those previously agreed, charging for both the goods they sold and those they did not sell.
Nature of endorsement
Assign John de Foxle, John Randolf and John de Tycheburn, or two of them of which Foxle should be one, to inquire into the truth of this, and having heard and determined, to do justice to the merchants. And the petitions should be sent to the justices under the half-seal, so that they will be better advised upon this business.
