- The unspecified petitioners state that many alien merchants are defrauding native merchants by using various methods to avoid paying their debts, on the advice of other alien merchants. They therefore ask the Commons to ask the King to order that all alien merchants giving such advice, or their executors, be held similarly responsible for the debt owed by the merchant to whom they have given the assistance.

- [on face] Let it be sent to the Lords.[on dorse] The king will be advised. 17/5828 and SC 8/117/5836, all of which appear to have been written by the same scribe as the present document, and all of which can be firmly dated to the 1455 parliament.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- A note on the guard dates this to? Henry VI or? Edward IV, referring to entries in Rot. Parl. which appear to be of little relevance. A second note dates it to? 1455, comparing the handwriting with that of SC 8/117/5824, SC 8/117/5828 and SC 8/117/5836, all of which appear to have been written by the same scribe as the present document, and all of which can be firmly dated to the 1455 parliament.
