Nature of request
The commons of Marshland request a commission of oyer et terminer to the Earl of Suffolk and others, to enquire into various misdemeanours in the region. They state that an earlier commission had been granted to Cavendish, Meers and Holt into their request for the narrowing of the river at Wiggenhall, but that they refused to look into other matters under that commission.

Note
Dated on the guard to?1378-9, with reference to SC 8/146/7272 and SC 8/149/7447. A commission de wallis et fossatis was issued on 28 May 1379 (in response to SC 8/149/7447), naming as commissioners most of the people whom the petitioners ask to be named on their commission. It therefore seems likely that this petition also dates to roughly the same period.
