Nature of request
Randolf le Mareschal requests remedy regarding various lands which he is claiming against the rector of Ashridge. The rector claims that these lands were given to one of his predecessors by Edmund, Earl of Cornwall, obliging him and his heirs to warranty. As the King is the heir of Edmund, the rector states that he cannot answer without the King, and thus he asks that the King speak his will on this, so that right can be done to him.

Coram Rege.[Deleted - They are to proceed to give judgment, but before the judgment is given]The King wishes that he should answer and that the justices should proceed, and that they certify to the King before rendering judgment, and upon this let there be a writ in Chancery.xxxii (32)These were dealt with before the King on Sunday in the first week of Lent.
