Nature of request
John Matheu requests exemption from the present Act of Resumption of a grant made to him for his service to the king and his father during their wars. He states that he has an annuity of £50, which he received in exchange for an earlier grant made to him of lands and rents in Normandy and another annuity granted to Saint Mard, and asks that he keep at least part of the grant, in consideration of the losses and injuries he sustained in the king's service.
Nature of endorsement
The King, by the advice of the lords spiritual and temporal, agreed that John Mathewe be provided, and provide for him that he have 20 marks yearly of the said £50.
