Nature of request
The Prior and convent of Lenton ask that the prior be allowed to hold the house as he did before the priory was taken into the king's hands on account of the war with the French, and that the farm not be granted to Tiptoft. They state that the king had asked for 60 marks for the farm of the house, but they could only raise 40 marks without causing great destruction to the house. Now Tiptoft, with whom the priory had already had a dispute over the village of Langar, has offered 100 marks for the farm of the house, which would be to the great damage of the house.
