Emma de Levesame states that her late husband was bound to the late king for 4 marks by a written obligation for victuals bought at Newcastle from Robert de Nottingham. Levesame then presented the bill to Somerville, then sheriff of Yorkshire, and paid the 4 marks. However, this bill has again been presented to Emma and her pledges (Neuby and Kilvington) for payment, as Somerville appears not to have paid the money to the king, and thus she seeks remedy.
