Nature of request
John de Loundres requests remedy concerning 13s 4d issuing from a tenement which he had given to Peter son of John on Peter's marriage to his daughter. The tenement is now in the king's hands due to the forfeiture of Peter.
Nature of endorsement
It is said that John de Loundres, deceased, acquired the tenement from Andrew Gros, who was seised at the time of King Alexander, this John being then seised, and he gave it to Peter son of John, along with his daughter in marriage, receiving 13s 4d, John being seised of that rent from the hands of the said Peter, until the tenement was taken into the hands of the king by the sheriff on the forfeiture of the said Peter, and from then the said rent was kept from John, and that the John who is suing is the son and next heir of that John, and that both were in the town and he did not return.Let him have a writ to the sheriff of Berwick to deliver the said rents to him, and no others in the king's hands, to hold as he had previously held it, saving to the king and anyone else.

Note
Dated on the guard to 1333-4, with reference to SC 8/124/6160-1. These petitions, and SC 8/124/6165, all bear similar damage and fading, and all clearly date to the aftermath of the capture of Berwick in 1333.
