Nature of request
Alice, widow and executor of John de Loundres, requests the return of a tenement on the corner of Briggate [in Berwick], leased to her late husband by Michael Lambyn for 15 years from 1329. The tenement is now in the hands of the king, and she seeks to recover the property for the remainder of the term.
Nature of endorsement
Lambyn and his ancestors were seised of this tenement in the time of King Alexander, and he demised it to the said John for the term given in the petition for a certain sum paid in advance, and the said John was seised of the tenement until ousted by the sheriff, and he had rents in the town at the time, and that his executors ought to have that tenement.Let them have a writ to deliver the tenement to them, and no others in the king's hands, to hold until the end of the said term, saving to the king and anyone else.
