King and Council.
Nature of request
[Two separate petitions on one membrane, the second being damaged and fragmentary.]1) The petitioners seek to be released from prison on bail. They state that after Roger Damory had seized the castle of St Briavels, he imprisoned the petitioners in the castle, but they then escaped when Roger left Gloucester. When the king came to Gloucester, they were falsely accused of being of Roger's party, and were imprisoned by the king, where they still remain.2) The petitioners appear to be requesting the return of their lands, having been accused of adhering to the contrariants.
Nature of endorsement
[Both responses are damaged and incomplete]1) It is ordered that if those in the petition were taken and no others then mainpernors are to be found, so that they should answer the king wherever he may be, and their names be returned into Chancery without delay.2) They should declare ... taken into the hands ... king in chancery upon what ... and if they were taken for the reason contained in this petition then they are to have justice in Chancery.

Note
The King's visit to Gloucester occurred in the winter of 1321-2, while an order to release on bail most of the people bringing the first petition was issued on 6 June 1322. This would suggest that the petition was presented to the York parliament of May 1322.
