Note
Dated on the guard to '? 1307-10' and to 'prob. c. 1310' with reference to SC 8/123/6134. CCR 1307-13 p.195 records an order dated 23 February 1310 discharging John le Despenser, executor of the will and co-heir of John de London, of all debts due from John at his death, as the late king pardoned him these debts on account of his good service. The petition ought to date from before this date, but the references to the late king clearly date it to the reign of Edward II. Perhaps these debts were overlooked, and hence the petition may well be later, especially in view of the French endorsement.
