Nature of request
The petitioners, creditors of Edward III, ask that the king ensure that all debts owed to them are paid. They state that it was decided at the parliament held at the quindene of Michaelmas 1377 that payment of these debts was to be made from the goods of the late king, but many debts were not paid.

Dated on the guard to 'c. 1378 seq.', with reference to the decision of the 1377 parliament. Petitions on this matter were recorded on the rolls of the parliaments of 1379 and 1380, but this petition cannot be definitively linked with either, although it would seem to date from the same period.
