The burgesses of Liverpool request that the Commons ask the King to ensure that his officials respect the liberties and freedoms of the borough. They state that, although the king has already confirmed their liberties, granted by King John and Henry III, other officials had entered the town and held courts, contrary to their rights.

[on face] Let it be asked of the King.[on dorse] Let this matter be sent to the King's council, and let the council, by the authority of parliament, have full power to do right to the supplicants on the matter given in this petition.

Dated on the guard to? 1414, with reference to Rot. Parl. IV, p.55, which assigns it to the parliament of November 1414. The query appears to be due to a confirmation issued on 9 May 1413 (CPR 1413-6, p.20), but this appears to be the confirmation cited here.
