- The petitioner requests that he be restored to his lands in Cheshire. These lands had been taken into the hands of his lord, the king's father, following an inquest over two years previously, and not returned.

- Let him have the keeping for sufficient surety to respond to the king on these issues if that be adjudged, and to have until it be discussed.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- Dated on the guard to c. 1377. The reference to the king's father (which does not refer to him as king) presumably refers to Edward the Black Prince (d.1376), while the time span of two years would tend to date the petition to the early months of Richard II's reign. Roger died in August 1382.
