Note (Additional information about the record)
- Dated on the guard to? 1377, with reference to a confirmation granted on 4 December 1377 (CChR 1341-1417, p.236-7), or? 1383 (ibid., p.294, dated 26 November 1383). However, the 1377 confirmation clearly relates to a different petition, containing far more requests than the present petition, and that of 1383 also contains additional matters. Unless this is an abbreviated copy, it is far more likely that this document corresponds with a different confirmation. That of 12 July 1414 is possible (CChR 1341-1417, p.473), but this did not occur during a parliament and the enrolled confirmation does not refer to a petition. This request for a confirmation may not actually have been granted. The handwriting would date it to the late-fourteenth or early-fifteenth century.
