Description

Carolina Corps; refers to his previous letters of 11 and 22 December 1790, and 27 January 1791 on subject of his intention to 'discipline [Carolina Corps] as soldiers'; refers to his asking for 'an aid of Negro laborers' which was passed at Grenada and has been rejected at Antigua; possibility of raising Black troops from Novia Scotia and New Brunswick, where 'a great number of free Negroes, who had been employed as Pioneers to the Army serving in the southern states of America, took refuge at the close of the last war.'
