Description

Refers to abolition of the Trinidad edict which gave protection to escaped enslaved persons; intelligence; encloses a note of the names, force, etc of three ships mentioned in his letter of October 25; Mathew reports that the crew of the Ambuscade mutinied at St. Pierre, killed two officers, put the captain in irons, and joined the democrats; encloses article of information relating to Tobago; encloses a printed copy of the answer of the Garrisons of Fort Royal and Fort Bourbon to a letter from Monsieur de Damas.
