Description

Encloses the 'Returns of Births, Marriages, and Burials from the several in this Island and that of Carriacou from the 25th March 1788 to 25th March 1790'; encloses petition signed by several of the principal planters and merchants of Grenada regarding their belief that there is an embargo in all the ports of Great Britain to prevent the exportation of grain of every kind, petition signed by Thornton Baillie & Campbell; Jas. Campbell; M. Scott; Munro McDowall & Co; Jn. Garraway; Rond & Proctor; George Robertson & Co.; Willm. Bird; John C. Coxall; Shand & Cruden; H. Wm. Young; parish returns of births, marriages, and burials give overall figures and also enclose copies of details of baptisms with names of people baptised, parents and occupations such as 'Page 23 No. 92 Ann natural Daughter of Joseph Marryat Esqr. Merchant in Grenville was baptised on the 28th Day of March 1788 Thos. May Rector'; Carriacou return extracted from the parish register gives details of christenings, marriages, and burials including: 'Betsey Ann, Daughter of Alexander Turnbull, was baptised the 6th Day of Decr.1789'; 'Sally, a free Negroe Woman, was buried the 6th Day of February 1789.'
