Harrington to Cumberland: the rebels in Scotland have avoided Cope's force and are advancing on Edinburgh. French warships and transports at Dunkirk, and other indications of French intentions. Cumberland is to send ten of the best English battalions under Ligonier to embark at Willemstad for Gravesend. The shortfall will be made good by the Hessians, the [former] Ostend garrison, and returning prisoners. Dated (OS) at Whitehall. ff. 119-122
