Wade to Carteret: after a forced March the army is now all on the Lille side of the Marque. Deputies of Lille have offered to provide dry fodder if the army will spare their corn, which was agreed, but when they saw the quantity required, they could not comply, and begged the generals to spare the country as much as they could. Saxe will not give battle. Wade has ordered dragoons to the Ghent-Bruges canal. Dated at camp at Pont de Tressine. ff. 13, 14
