Wade to Carteret: if the court of Brussels complains of the army's inactivity, it has its own generals to blame. If he had always agreed with them, the French would have been possessed of Flanders long ago. He has given orders for the movement of the battering train from Ostend to Antwerp. Since passing the Scheldt the army has been delayed by the large number of enclosures. Dated at camp at Avalghem. ff. 11, 12
