Carteret to Wade, enclosing a memorial from Stair on the conduct of the war [SP 87/14/154] and a letter from Burrish in Brussels [SP 87/14/155]. He is to communicate their contents to Arenberg and Count [Maurice of] Nassau and confer with them. The necessity for aggressive action. The court of Brussels thinks Wade is paying too much attention to the defence of Ghent. Carteret is writing to urge the Dutch to contribute more to a siege, and he asks Wade to urge Nassau to do the same. Dated (OS) at Whitehall. ff. 262-265
