Proposal [sentiment] of General Cronstrom at a council of war: a detachment should be sent without delay to the Moselle to the assistance of Prince Charles [of Lorraine]. A small camp should be left on the Ghent-Bruges canal for the defence of Flanders. The army should march on Tournai, where it should cross the Scheldt. If the enemy cannot be attacked the army should stay in the region so as to subsist on enemy territory. f. 244
