Enclosure to SP 87/14/96: advice sent to Major General de Launay by M. Rodrigue, editor of the Gazette of Cologne. The movement of the Spanish and Neapolitan armies against the Austrians has astonished those who do not realise that they are acting on the whims of the queen of Spain. Gage may have thought this move would make Lobkowitz retire, but as this did not happen he retreated into the small town of Velletri, where he is now shut up with his king, the duke of Modena and all their generals. ff. 168, 169
