Nouailles to Carteret: his appreciation of the proposals of the commissioners of the British admiralty on the treatment of naval officers and men. The [French] king intends to abide by the agreement on the treatment of prisoners made at Frankfurt the previous year. Nouailles suggests an exchange of prisoners, the French to be exchanged being Lowendale's regiment which was captured at sea. Soldiers with no counterparts to exchange would be ransomed. Dated at camp below Ypres. ff. 143-145
