Carteret to Wade, enclosing a letter from Nouailles [SP 87/14/88] concerning a proposed cartel and his response [SP 87/14/89]. He also encloses the original of the response, which Wade is to forward to Nouailles by a trumpet. The king has agreed to what was settled at Frankfurt the previous year, of which he encloses a copy. Regarding prisoners taken at sea, he encloses a copy of the proposals of the lords of the admiralty. Since these do not cover exchanges, he encloses a copy of a cartel concluded with Spain.
