Advices from Oudenaarde: the capitulation of Menin. Departure of supplies and artillery from Menin for Ypres. Nouailles has established his headquarters at Flamertingue. At Ypres the prince of Hesse opened artillery fire at the approach of the French. Composition of French troops, munitions, supplies etc. Ypres is under siege and a large detachment has moved on Knokke. There is a rumour among the French that Prince Charles [of Lorraine] is on the way with 40,000 men. ff. 137, 138
