Count Castillon, commanding officer at Nieuwpoort [to Ligonier]: the mail stopped since 25 February has arrived all at once, and the barque has come from Veurne. The [invasion] project is totally destroyed. PS. that an English merchant arrived from Dunkirk reports that ten vessels have been destroyed. Troops are disembarking, and the convents are full of them. Saxe has received a disagreeable letter. Possibility of a second embarkation. f. 26
