Hyndford to Carteret: he has taken up the matter of Stair's possessions with Podewils, who requested that he write a memorial [SP 87/13/94] to the king at Potsdam. On receipt of it, the king would give no orders on the matter, saying that Stair should have requested a passport. Podewils has requested a second memorial, which Hyndford encloses [SP 87/13/93]. Podewils expects a letter on the subject from Count [Finck von] Finckenstein. Dated at Berlin. ff. 185, 186
