Description

Draft; acknowledges receipt of letters with enclosures; refers to the proceedings with the Governor of the Carracca's and the enslaved persons who had escaped from Grenada; King approves of nomiations of Mr. Colby and Reverend Mr. Wingate to be assistant councillors; King does not approve of Mr. Lynch continuing as interpreter, nor of Mathew creating any new offices until has submitted the necessity of actions to King and received his approval; Free Port Act; ; reference to the act of the last session of Parliament entitled an Act for Regulating the Trade &c. [Slave Trade], which was forwarded to Mathew in Secretary of State's letter of 15 March 1788, and 'difficulties' perceived by Mr. Byam in his letter, which Mathew transmitted on 6 April 1788.
