Description

Reference to Governor Seton's request for addition men for the Garrison of St. Vincent; reports has received a very urgent request from Governor Sir Thomas Shirley not to diminish the number intended for the Garrison of Antigua [letter forwarded in despatch]; forwards application for a detachment from the Legislature of Montserrat; reports Governor Orde's impatience for arrival of additional five companies to the Garrison of Dominica; states that it is impossible to comply entirely with all the requests and that ordering one regiment more for this station would remove all their difficulties; encloses an extract of an Act of the Assembly of Grenada, making a provision of £50 per annum to every commissioned officer of the Garrison.
