Holdernesse to Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick: as it is evident that General Imhoff disobeyed Ferdinand's orders, the king wishes his conduct to be examined. He did not hesitate when the commander of the British troops [Lord George Sackville] failed in his duty. He wishes Ferdinand to concert with the reigning duke of Brunswick on what action should be taken. Dated at Whitehall. ff. 33, 34
