Description

Legislature granted one per cent of all the 'Negroes' [enslaved persons] on the island for two months over and above the former grant for the works upon Richmond Heights; Return from the Acting Engineer of the Artificers and Labourers (White and Black) daily employed on the fortifications ('Return of the White Overseers & Artificers, also the Colony Negroes employ'd on his His Majestys Fortifications on Richmond Heights, Grenada 27 October 1787') ; reference to the critical condition of the affairs of Europe; states he is well acquainted with French neighbour's desire for Grenada; reports has received a letter from Governor Parry with a Return of Ammunition and Artillery Stores belonging to 'His Majesty' in the island of Barbados.
