Description

Informs Secretary of State about proceedings since Williams' letter of 13 December; reports whole force of Artificers and Labourers has been sucessfully employed in forwarding Fort Frederick and preparing Barracks for a detachments of the 45th Regiment on Richmond Hill; reference to 'Black Troops'; reports that on taking Command of Grenada many of the cannon upon the different fortifications and also in the artillery yard found to be 'effectually spiked', and that this did not surprise him as he is 'well acquainted with the Disposition of the new Subjects, and the Certainty that the present Generation will never be attached to His Majesty'; provisions for the Garrison; supplies of Gun Powder.
