Copy letter from Mr White, Master of the Discovery Pink Transport to Commissioner Vanbrugh. Recommends Henry Perry, Mate of the Biddeford, to be Mate of his ship and requests his discharge. Has an offer from a Carpenter of the Princess Amelia, who is willing to go with him as a Carpenter's Mate. Extract of letter from Commissioner Vanbrugh, 20 January 1744. Encloses a letter from William White, Master of the Discovery Pink about two persons willing to go to the Mediterranean if discharged. Admiral Balchen will not order it without replacements
