Thomas Corbett. Report on officers being paid for ships, when they are removed after their accounts are passed. Opinion on the non-payment of wages. Present usage is that Commission and Warrant Officers of ships, when removed from one ship to another, cannot receive wages for the ships they are removed from until they are paid off. Proposal to pay them as soon as their books and papers are delivered to the Office and have passed their accounts. Our opinion is that this would cause inconvenience and loss to the Crown for the reasons given
