Report of A. Conant on 1 collective petition (25 people, from St. Marylebone in Middlesex) on behalf of James Lynam, for an assault on David Walters. Grounds for clemency: previous good character, his business is going to ruin, prosecutor and many other respectable people supports the petition, prosecutor was 'making free with the prisoner's orphan niece, distressed state of the prisoner's family and his wife is ill following a miscarriage. Initial sentence: 2 months imprisonment. Recommendation: remission of remainder of sentence; annotated 'Let a Remission be prepared. Folios 320-323.
