Report/letter of J. Berkeley Burland on 1 individual petition (Richard Graham, Captain of Marines) on behalf of Thomas Grimslade alias Thomas Tout, imprisoned at Ilchester in Somerset, for stealing wheat, property of 'his master'. The report/letter was from memory as his notes on the case are elsewhere. Grounds for clemency: good conduct during his confinement, has served 6 months of his sentence, was encouraged to steal the wheat by a receiver, is willing to enlist in HM. Forces. Initial sentence: 12 months hard labour in the House of Correction at Middlewick. Recommendation: to enlist in H.M. Forces. Folios 295-298.
