Report of Lancelot Brown, Chairman of the Huntingdonshire Bench of Magistrates [Huntingdonshire Quarter Sessions] on behalf of Elizabeth Gale, sentenced at 'the Summer assizes' at Huntingdon [Huntingdonshire Assizes] on 26 April 1796. There is a letter from Robert Burton reminding Brown of his promise to obtain a pardon for Gale. Burton also refers to 3 other (unnamed) prisoners sentenced to transportation and recently removed. Grounds for clemency: youth (age not given) and good behaviour since her confinement which has been almost solitary. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. Recommendation: free pardon. Folios 243-245.
