Report of James Eyre on 2 collective petitions (6 magistrates; 18 people, from Oulston, Easingword, York, Stillington, Craike [Crayke], in Yorkshire North Riding) on behalf of George Harrison, convicted at the 'last' Huntingdonshire Assizes for stealing a horse. There are letters from G. Howes, James Eyre, Lord Sandwich and the Duke Portland's initial reference asking for the report. The prisoner is currently held in Huntingdon Gaol, Grounds for clemency: mistaken identity, the prisoner was elsewhere when the crime took place, he has behaved well during his time in custody, has an excellent character, and that although he was associated with the guilty men he did not take part in the crime. Initial sentence: death. Recommendation: speaks against mercy. Folios 251-264.
