Description

Letter of John William Rose, Recorder of London, stating that in the opinion of the 'Judges' the conviction of William Tilley, William Croswell, George Hardwicke, James Hayden, William Handland, Simon Jacobs, John Solomons, John Phillips and John Henley convicted in July 1795 of aiding Isdaile Isdwill alias Isdwill Isdwill to attempt to escape from Clerkenwell prison in Middlesex, is against the law and asks on their behalf for a free pardon. Folios 249-250.
